| Do you have a nurturing spirit? Do you like to work with children? St. Paul offers many opportunities throughout the year
to share God's Word by teaching. If you don't feel comfortable in a lead role, our volunteer teachers
can always use helpers. |
Christmas for Kids Teacher
Christmas for Kids is held once a year on a Saturday morning in December for four hours.
There are classes for children ages 3 years to 5th grade. Our volunteer teachers tell or read the Christmas story and guide
the children to different stations where they decorate Christmas cookies, make a craft and learn a song or two. Each station
has a lead volunteer plus a room helper. For a typical session, we need the following staff:
6-8 Classroom Teachers - ideally one per age/grade
6-8 Classroom Helpers
1 Music Teacher
1 Craft Teacher
3-5 Cookie Decoration Helpers/Lunch Servers

Easter For Kids Teacher
Easter for Kids is held once a year in spring for four hours on a Saturday morning.
We have classes for children ages 3 years to 5th grade. Volunteer teachers tell or read the Easter story and guide
the children to different stations where they decorate cookies, make a craft and learn a song or two. Each station
has a lead volunteer plus a room helper. For a typical session, we need the following staff:

Sunday School Teacher
Sunday School Teachers share God's Word with children of school and preschool
age every Sunday morning throughout the school year. For younger children,
the teacher may tell or read the story. For older children, the teacher
listens to the children read the story and also listens to memory work.
Classroom helpers offer assistance with art projects and worksheets. We
also have a separate music teacher who leads the children in singing. Sunday
School Teachers do not need any special training, but they are expected
to attend monthly meetings to learn the upcoming lessons and give input
regarding Sunday School business such as registration process, Christmas
programs, mission money distribution, and closing ceremonies. On a yearly
basis, we typically need 1-2 teachers per age group/class, depending on
class size. Some grades also need a helper. |
Vacation Bible School (VBS) Teacher
Vacation Bible School is held one week every summer for four hours a morning.
There are classes for children ages 3 years to 5th grade. Volunteer teachers tell or read Bible stories and
work on a special craft. A gym teacher gets the kids moving and a music teacher helps the children learn a song or two for the closing program.
For a typical VBS session, we need the following staff:
6-8 Classroom Teachers - ideally one per age/grade
6-8 Classroom Helpers
1 Gym Teacher
1 Music Teacher
1 Craft Teacher |
