The Path to Victory Basketball Camp helps
players focus on basketball skills, such as footwork, dribbling, passing,
and shooting form, which enables them to play at a competitive level. A
variety of offensive and defensive strategies are also taught. In addition,
players learn about sportsmanship and God's love for them through daily
devotions. Each player leaves the camp with a Basketball Edition New
Testament Bible and a Path to Victory t-shirt.
The three-day camp is geared toward children
in grades 1-6, and players are placed in sessions based on gender and age.
For example, the girls in grades 1 & 2 will meet first, followed by the boys
in grades 1 & 2. Each session typically lasts about 1 1/2 hours. |

On Your Own
WELS Congregations can
present the Path to Victory Basketball Camp as an outreach tool in their
communities. There are several documents on
this website to help you set up your own camp. Topics include
Devotions,
Lesson Plans, and Advertising, as well as a To-Do Checklist and Ordering
Information.
With Help
The Mueller family can bring the Path to
Victory Basketball Camp to your WELS congregation during Christmas or Easter
vacation or during the summer. They will assist you in planning and running
the camp, and help you prepare to run the camp on your own in the future.
In addition, they will supply some equipment, which will be yours to keep
for future camps.
WELS Kingdom Workers will cover transportation if the project is
approved. All WKW paperwork is due by September for the following year. |
