Our Beliefs

We are:

A Christ-centered congregation. We preach Jesus Christ, the crucified and risen Lord, the only Savior for all the people of the world. Through His sufferings, death and resurrection, we have the forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

A Bible-believing congregation We teach that the Bible in its entirety is the true and inspired Word of God. We believe the Bible is the only authority for Christian faith and life. We aim to share God's Word in all its truth and simplicity.

An evangelical congregation This means that we are a church that desires to bring the Good News of Jesus to all people. The WELS has a congregation in all fifty states (and Canada) and carries out mission work in fifteen foreign countries.

A people-caring congregation We offer friendship, support, counsel, direction and love. The people of our congregation care about other people - and that includes you.

St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church is a congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). The Wisconsin Synod started in 1850 in the state of Wisconsin.

Our Mission

As men, woman and children united by the Gospel of Christ, we reach out with the Gospel in order to make disciples of all nations; and with the same Gospel, we nurture those who are under our care in Christian discipleship.

This mission statement was adopted by the congregation in 2001. It is to guide and shape every group that exists within the congregation, as well as guide the congregation in all its planning and decision making.

You will notice that the statement serves to challenge us to always look in two directions at the same time: nurture (inreach) and reaching out (outreach/evangelism). The statement highlights the need to do both of these things with a mindset of "balance."

We pray that God will bless us as we follow this mission that he has given to us as a congregation of believers!
