Our contemporary service, which meets in the CFC auditorium/gym, blends the
path of worship from historic Christian worship with
modern music. This meaningful worship service features
a single theme for the day. Contemporary worship offers
opportunity for confession and forgiveness, reading(s)
from Holy Scripture, confession of faith using one of
the historic Christian creeds, a Law/Gospel sermon,
the sacraments of baptism and Holy Communion, and songs
of worship.
The assurance of forgiveness and strengthening of
Holy Communion (for members and guests from congregations
in fellowship with us) is offered on the second and
fourth Sundays of every month at this service. Before
communing at St. Paul for the first time, we ask that
you would please speak with one of our pastors. We also
rejoice when God adds a baptism to this service. The
baptismal font stands before us every Sunday as a reminder
of of God's grace to us all in the cleansing water of
this wondrous Sacrament. After the service, attendees
from both the Traditional and Contemporary services
gather outside the gynasium for food and refreshments.
They spend time visiting and catching up with each other
or meeting new friends.
Contemporary services also feature projected Powerpoint
video. The visual elements are used to help a listener
retain more of the service content and allow us also
to follow along with the words/songs of the service.
The service features music of modern flavor. The music
chosen for worship must have a faithful Scriptural message
and not be merely "modern."
It is our prayer, as with every service at St. Paul, that everyone who attends our contemporary service will hear "Christ crucifed" proclaimed and that God will work in hearts by the power of his Word and Sacrament. This service serves not only our members, but also has opened a new door into the congregation for many families. Come and worship with us!
